Summer holidays in Albania (Hmm, actually, the place doesn’t matter in this story, magic like that happens anywhere else and to anyone, no matter what religion or skin color). Breakfast at a campsite. We’re having fresh, crispy breadstuff and jam, coffee, milk. Carol (our daughter) stands up and circles a tent once, next she sits down at the table just to get up again and repeat the running.

I: Jeeez! What’s gotten to all those wasps, or maybe bees — who cares, flying after you like mad?

Carol: That’s because I smell so nice - sweet like a rose!

Timmy (our son) brightens up all of a sudden.

Tim: Oh, so that’s why there are so many flies around mum!

How do I respond? I throw him the look:

The piece above is another one of a few summer holiday memoirs I’m going to publish on my medium profile page in the month of September. Yes, I know, autumn is coming and the general spirit has shifted to all matters connected thereof, but I can’t somehow reconcile myself to the fact I’ve come back to my country to fall into the usual daily routine. I’d rather daydream about summertime and all the fun we had there. So if you’re willing to daydream with me and simply relax, smile, chuckle or guffaw, stay tuned!
